Obama's Accuser and the Surreal Scene at the NPCThe fur was flying fast and furiously at the National Press Club on June 18, 2008. Larry Sinclair was in town--the bete noire of U.S. Sen. Barrack Obama (D-IL). After making an opening statement, the media ripped into Sinclair, challenging just about every aspect of his anti-Obama yarn. It wasn’t a good day for the accuser. He was also arrested after his spiel by the DC cops and turned over to two Federal Marshals on an outstanding Delaware warrant. |

Is Obama the New Progressive Avatar?"Will America's newfound role as peacekeeper of the world bode well for Obama's election? There is a deep hunger in this country for peaceable solutions to the crises emanating from the Middle East, Iraq, and Afghanistan, just as there has been an unquenching thirst for blood for the crimes committed by fanatics and fundamentalists on all sides." |

The Upshot of the Somali Peace Express"...while a thorough scrutinization of the peace accord is indeed imperative in order to fix its detrimental holes, it is equally imperative to prudently avert the development of any ill-advised campaign to stir the old negative impulses of cynicism. Israeli cover-ups, the Lebanese videotape and regional politics"...Arabs must start to plan for a new phase or stage of development in the conflict that is beyond the Israeli/Palestinian geography but one that has a regional/international dimension." |

An Apology"In decades of meeting with Palestinians of all walks of life, I have come to the conclusion that the emotional aspects of the conflict are no less - and perhaps even more - important than the political ones. A profound sense of injustice permeates the minds and actions of all Palestinians. Unconscious or half-conscious guilt feelings are troubling the souls of the Israelis, creating a deep conviction that Arabs will never make peace with us." |

Zigzag"At the end of the day, the Olmert government has not resolved the contradiction between the approaches and does not appear to have a cohesive strategy regarding Gaza and Hamas. Hence the zigzag nature of Israel's approach." |
